10th anniversary Knock Cancer Out of the Park ball tournament will be held Friday, July 10th-Sunday, July 12th in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. Proclaimed the Shanna Larsen Memorial ‘Team Shan’ Weekend, the tournament will include two divisions of ball along with a dance on Saturday evening. The Haileybury Figure Skating Club and Big Scoops will feature a BBQ and ice cream at the event and Zante’s Bar & Grill will host a Team Shan Day on Saturday. Team Shan will be presenting at the annual Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology (CAPO) conference in Montreal this week. Lorna Larsen, Team Shan President will present on Understanding the Impact of Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women-response from young women along with sharing a poster presentation and update at the annual Community Based Organizations session at the conference.
‘Animated Shan’ was launched today to support Team Shan social media efforts to reach young women with their breast cancer risk and breast health information. Launched as part of Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week 2015 and Team Shan fifth anniversary as a national charity activities…welcome ‘animated Shan!’
Team Shan will be hosting a multi-faceted breast cancer awareness campaign on and around the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus in the fall of 2015. Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-BC/Yukon funding support has been received for the project.
