CAPO Conference Presentations

Team Shan will be presenting at the annual Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology (CAPO) conference in Montreal this week. Lorna Larsen, Team Shan President will present on Understanding the Impact of Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women-response from young women along with sharing a poster presentation and update at the annual Community Based Organizations session at the conference.

‘Animated Shan’ was launched today to support Team Shan social media efforts to reach young women with their breast cancer risk and breast health information. Launched as part of Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week 2015 and Team Shan fifth anniversary as a national charity activities…welcome ‘animated Shan!’

Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign UBC Vancouver

Team Shan will be hosting a multi-faceted breast cancer awareness campaign on and around the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus in the fall of 2015. Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-BC/Yukon funding support has been received for the project.

Team Shan Conference Presentations

Team Shan will be presenting at the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology (CAPO) conference in Montreal, QC April 22-24, 2015. Team Shan will also be presenting at the International Conference on Health Promoting Universities & Colleges in Kelowna, BC June 23-June 25, 2015.

Young Breast Cancer Survivors U of T Study Invite

Women aged 18-45 are invited to complete an online questionnaire AND/OR take part in an in-person interview that asks them to think about the ways in which being a survivor of breast cancer may have changed how they see themselves in the world. This may include looking at social roles, being a woman, a worker, or a partner. The online questionnaire as well as the interview each take approximately 90 minutes to complete. This study is being conducted by Lianne Trachtenberg, a doctoral student in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at the University of Toronto.
