AYA Cancer Awareness Week 2021

Team Shan will be participating in 2021 AYA Cancer Awareness Week social media marketing. Team Shan will promote AYA cancer risk reduction messages and support other #AYAWeek #AYACancer and #AYACSM messaging!!

Paint the Town Pink Ontario

Team Shan is pleased to be a charity recipient for the 2021 Paint the Town Pink Ontario initiative. Lawn signs ($20) and door hangers ($5) can be reserved by visiting www.pinkthetowns.ca/shop. Delivery takes place in September in time to post for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative was started by Bec Matthews, breast cancer survivor who wanted to give back. The initiative supports breast cancer awareness and research.

Team Shan 2021

As COVID continues to restrict charity activities, Team Shan will maintain a strong online presence during 2021. Plans are in place for a virtual Fore for Shan Golf Tournament in August and mini breast cancer awareness campaigns in the fall…stay tuned!

Breast Cancer Action Month

Team Shan will have a large online presence this October including the launch of our new website redesign on October 14th! Team Shan will be hosting mini marketing campaigns in SW Ontario, NE Ontario and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lorna will be also be providing virtual presentations during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!

Team Shan Virtual Golf Tournament

The first ever Team Shan virtual golf tournament was a success raising $9,000 for Team Shan awareness and education activities particularly supporting our online presence during COVID-19. Close to 100 golfers took part across Ontario. Thanks to our event and hole sponsors along with prize donors. Great day for a tournament and lots of fun on the courses!!

Lorna Larsen Receives a Family Advocate Award at IPOS

As part of the CAPO Patients Included initiative, Lorna was proud to be selected as a recipient of a family advocate award for the 21st IPOS conference in Banff, Alberta. Lorna was present to share Shan’s Story, her journey and advocacy work on AYA cancer palliative care issues, recommendations and strategies.
